wow, have you seen the news about the aava 2nd generation intel phone?

http://www.engadget.com/2011/02/03/a...ed-android-me/

Now we are talking!.....hardware.....check, software............we have to wait and see, we don`t need another N900 fiasco in our hands.Developers have to deliver or else it will be Maemo all over again

I don't like the Aava design it is, for a phone, too edgy(sharp). You could hurt yourself with this design. It is a nice teaser but I think this isn't the N9.

Well it's a reference design just like the old moorestown one that manufacturers can buy so it's not for us anyways. Though i got feeling that we will see it in Intels MeeGo booth in MWC.

I took a look at the graphics driver that intel wrote.
here's what i figured out:
topaz is the code name for the hardware video encoder. it seems to have two "cores" (maximum) and it can write codecs to its firmware (memory) to use for decoding. msvdx is the video decoder, i think it handles up to 5 streams. if you look at the code and see DRM everywhere, don't worry, it's the "direct rendering manager".
There's 3 different speeds of video hardware supported, with 100, 166, or 200mhz core clocks. i guess it's still called the gma 600 for now.

wasting my time looking at git again, i found some interesting file that should show which device IDs are going to be launched. The point is, it looks like 4 devices.
Take a look at this file.
RM-680 (dali)
RM-690
RM-696 (lankku)
RM-716
all have no "name" indicating the people programming this don't know or can't say what these are...
-edit-
okay launch device is too strong of a word, but still the 690 and 716 looks new, i'm gonna see what i can find on those

RM-680/RM-690 has a single-colour LED connected to a Lysti controller
RM-696 has a single-colour LED connected to a NJoy controller

yeah, i won't show any joy if they give us a single-color LED after spoiling us with the "rgb" one on the n900. looks like I want a RM-716, but I have no idea what it is

Perhaps Nokia are finally coming through with that N800 refresh the community demanded for so long.
