Which part do you think came from the NITs? Keyboard and D-Pad? Anything else?

To my mind, it seems like it does not have the most distinctive and important parts of the NIT.

And touch screen.

Aside from Maemo, what are those?

I'm taking a poll of my own:

Hypothetically speaking, what would you be willing to pay to have flamingsnot change his handle to something with less grotesque imagery?

a. $1 - $10 "Please"
b. $11 - $30 "Pretty please"
c. $31 - $90 "Pretty please with sugar on top"
d. >$90 "Change it, motherf*cker!"
e. nothing "What's all the fuss?"
f. donate to flamingsnot "Your handle is my bag, baby"

I'll start: d

I personally saw a great deal of irony in the fact that someone with the nickname of "Flaming Snot" said "it's a gorgeous device"...

I see what you're sayin'. Well, if he (I'm assuming he's a he) does decide to buy one, I sure hope he splurges on a nice case. 'cause if not, one flaming snot later and he might have to find a new description.

What audience? What ecosystem? So far, it is positioned exactly like iPhone, except the fashion factor and the holy halo (tm). In comparison with Android, even Symbian/UIQ had an "ecosystem"

It's still running S60! Maemo.

640x360 is an improvement over 240x320, but it's still no 800x480.

Sticking with my N800 and N95 for now.

I wonder if the N97 is Nokia's "fifth step of the five-step plan to bring an internet tablet to the mass market"?
