Hi! I have the same problem. You can report a bug by pressing "Mappero", then from the screen that pops up choose "About". Press the button "Report bug" and the browser will open the site.

With espeak/flite, it would actually say "turn right at exit 103 to Sand Hill Road", or similar. Having it just say "turn right" is almost totally useless.

Why bother? Why not just feed the whole instructions to espeak like it used to do? ;'( This is very bad I don't like it at all.

I completely agree. Is there a way to revert this behavior to use flite again, with the current release of Mappero?

Like many mappero users, I felt espeak integration with Mappero is a must have. So here's a package to enable the same. It's based on Speech server (http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Speech_Server).

Pre-requisite: Install mappero 3.1 and espeak-cli from maemo repository.

1. Copy sugar-speechd to /usr/bin/
2. As root, exectue: chmod +x /usr/bin/sugar-speechd
3. Copy org.laptop.Speech.service to /usr/share/dbus-1/services/
4. Install maemo-mapper_3.1-os2008_armel.deb (http://applenorange.in/maemo-mapper_...2008_armel.deb) as root.

Note: Since the maemo-mapper package was exceeding the forum attachment limit, I uploaded it to a server I manage.

Anand

Awesome app. I'm now using this all the time. One problem I found is, you can download all the maps along your route to run it offline, but then it keeps on asking for an internet connection. Almost crashed the car canceling it the whole time.

Yes, I have it working on my N900 PR 1.3. File naming is misleading and I didn't spend time correcting that part.
