Right idk how to explain other than it will simply play about 5 seconds then go back to the film selection screen, same thing happens with youtube videos streamed via mobile youtube.. Any ideas how to fix this? I got this N900 about 2 weeks ago now and its done it since I got it. Grrr.

I have the _exact_ same problem, either the video plays for like 5 seconds, or it just gives an error right away.

Try installing "Extra Codecs Support" from the app manager.

Sorry, what I meant was:
1) If you do not have extra codecs installed, then install them.

2) If you already had it installed, try re-installing them, an restarting the n900.

3) Also, you can try uninstalling extra codecs support, and try playing your videos then. If it plays properly then, it's definitely a codec problem.

Chances are the codec's giving problems, and not installed properly. Btw have you tried other media players as well? Do they work properly?
