Actually I think it is still based on Tizen 2 so no wayland afaik

So with tizen are there anymore maemo children yet to be released?

Seems like it might finally be time to find a replacement for my N9, but I just don't know if there's anything as refined (in concept) as the N9.

Very disappointed the Samsung Z is shipping with buttons, we all know apple is going to release "the worlds first button free phone" then everybody's going to be doing it..

Not to judge your sexual preference but this is such a sexy Android lookalike interface.
They even got the menu , home and back button right.
Could we hope to run a full Android on this device

I dont think so , I was at TdcSf14 and it (and all tizen-2.x I know) are still using X11 ... but it's different for Tizen IVI

I like it. The little floating apps are cool and so's the way you can expand and shrink the widgets.

I like the appearance of the hardware too, only I think it looks more like LG's style than Samsung's.

Does anyone know how locked down it will be? Can you install packages from standard Linux repos?

I hope user can change the theme or "launcher" to get it like you want it.
