We have 8 entries to judge from the games category. And we'd like your help with that!

Some entries are substantial ugrades to existing projects while others are completely brand new. This competition is not necessarily for the best app, but for the best coding during May 21st-July 21st. There are prizes for the top placed winners, so try them out and please vote for the author/project you feel deserves to win

Please understand some of these applications are in the development and testing repositories, some are external to Maemo.org. There may be bugs or other issues that have not been discovered yet. You should be comfortable with that before installing any application. Also, zero flaming in the voting threads please.

Voting runs until approx 7 days (please see poll for exact date and time). More info on the 8 entries can be found in the post below.

You have one vote and it can't be changed later! So please use it wisely!

Thank you for voting, and best of luck to all the competitors

Hi kojacker and Slocan!
It's a homepage (not a thread). For the reason of lacking thread, I'm feedbacking here.
First, this isn't an algorithm, since it isn't finite.
Second, the score could be divided by the time it's obtained to get a more complete understanding of the player's level. As in, by playing longer, an infinitely huge score can be obtained, which however doesn't mean anything significant.
Overall, well done, since isn't related to virtual world as much as thousands of other games, simple, doesn't distract from reality.

I think smoku deserves to win as
psx4m beats all the rest graphics wise.
It also stops the nokia n900 from being beaten by phones like the htc desire - gamewise

Hi Jay92, i just want to clarify on this point in case anyone is confused by the video. PSX4M is a Playstation emulator smoku has released, and the game in the video is the Playstation game Tekken 3 running on it. PSX4M itself has no graphics to speak off, it runs from command line. What it shows and the quality of the graphics will depend on what Playstation game you are using PSX4M to play.

Just noticed the date and time on the poll, not long to go now

i understand that kojacker
but simply

Out of all the games above, if all were listed in ovistore right now for £15
I'd only think of buying smoku's psx emulator
The rest i'd think were overpriced and not worth the cash

Please if you have any questions about the competition, check out the wiki or the latest posts in the competition thread. You should really have done so before taking part and placing your vote.

Wiki - http://wiki.maemo.org/index.php?titl..._Competition_1

Competition discussion thread -http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=769189

To clear up any confusion, Nokia have offered previously to invite the winners to Dublin Ireland for the MeeGo conference to be held at the new Aviva Stadium - all accomodation and transport paid for. Else a brand new N900 could be substituted instead. A value much higher than any share of the bounty, ofcourse, and forum vote decided the bounty would be kept and shared to reward the runners up. We're confirming this with Nokia at the moment, if it falls through smoku will get a winning share of the bounty instead... if jay92 allows him to .
