Sorry to hear that, and thanks very much even for the abbreviated second version --it's very useful! I do encourage everyone to do what I do especially when posting long posts: do it in an editor first and then cut&paste. You never know when the web browser will crash, or your session suddenly says "I logged you off automatically because you took so long" and deletes all the text you typed in.

I would like to voice my agreement with this ... but I won't. Enough has been said. I'll just say that something might seem obvious to you may not be so obvious to others. At best the other person might have his/her reasons for not realizing the obvious; at worst, you are the one who is completely wrong. Certainly the N900 never ceases to amaze me in terms of its capabilities, and what seems impractical at first might actually be quite within the capabilities of this little device. In this case, the poster of the rude comment made quite a few assumptions: perhaps the questioner didn't have a microphone, didn't want to use a microphone, could not acquire a microphone under the circumstances for some reason, was unable to use a microphone (port already used?), etc. etc.

I'll just voice my support that I'm glad this question was asked, and that I learned something new today. Thanks!
