I had installed the Exercise Counter in the hopes of finding it useful for weight routines/work outs but unfortunately not

Does anyone know of a suitable work out program/sets and rep counter useable for the '900? it would be useful to be able to access gym workouts, training sessions, reps and sets as well as progression on the '900.

It would be much appreciated.

Do you have another application to show as template? e.g. an iPhone or Android app that does what you want. This way you could provide enhancement requests to the Exercise Counter and make it more useful to you.

And to me too, btw.

Sorry I took so long to respond...

I have been looking around and this app looks to be the best one so far...

http://workitoutapp.files.wordpress....creen-flow.pdf

I have emailed the dev and asked if he is prepared to make this available for us, his response is still pending.

Here is another example of droid app

Here are two more examples, I have also emailed the devs in regards to making this available for the N900/Maemo and, yes, response is still pending.

http://fitsync.com/

This iPhone app is really good as well, my friend has it, but he doesnt use it....

it is just a tad bit too big though?

And then some examples of various calculators which would be very useful.

Yes, us jocks do use the N900 and if anyone would be able to help out with this type of app, then it would be greatly appreciated! I am currently using the scrap of paper and out of ink pen app.

Even a basic app which allows us to enter programs, reps, sets, weights used, etc with a basic charting of progess function would be great.

I am sure that there are enough of us gym rats out there who would appreciate this

I got a very prompt response from fitsync for those who are interested;

Hi -
I’m not that familiar with the Maemo OS and Meego upgrade but I’ve passed this on to our engineers for a more intelligent answer. What I can tell you is that our current supported platforms are Win Mobile (pro and classic), Palm OS, Palm Pre & Pixi, Android, iPhone, and Java JME. Since we offer a free trial I’d say try and run one of our existing versions so go to http://fitsync.com/m on your browser and see if we detect your device and serve up a login/register screen. In the meantime as soon as I hear something from our engineering guys I’ll let you know. Thanks for checking in.

Best Regards,

...............

Is this the most ideal set up for such a program? If not, would you mind giving a detailed explaination of how such a program should operate?

@aspidites

Ideal is relative, i would say that that the set up shown above is purely an example, as Patola requested. In terms of examples, with out being able to see the other available apps GUIs, i have to say that for me, it is one of the better examples. I have seen the iApp in action and it is impressive to say the least.

That being said, the basic foundation for such an app would be to plan, set up and record all work-outs on the '900. It would be a nice to have progression chart, show examples/archives of work outs, 1 rep calculators, etc and have this organic instead of having to link up to the web for anything. yes, an option to download to the pc/laptop would be great as well.

At the very least, a basic .xls spreadsheet would do the trick but a decent functional app would be great to have. I set up my own training routines and record workouts, etc and it would be more convenient to do this on my '900 than my current system of print outs and leaky pens.

Unfortunately I am programing illiterate and so am reliant on others for this.

"If you build it, they will come" -- I'm attempting to write this app, so please give your feedback on the development thread Hopefully it'll get enough momentum to grow into a useful application.
