Just bought myself a Samsung TV, so I might be interested to look into it.

yes me too...

first you have to set up the dev-app-for your windows-7-PC, download the patched today-app-source and load it to the TV.

Now you're able to copie configs and change it. After changing, you have to call this app again and the changed configs are on the TV.

A run.sh could be made chmod +x by that...wich opens everything...

Hi,

We have released a LAN or WLAN remote control application for 2010 and 2011 Samsung TVs.
Supported are all C-model and D-model TVs from series 6 or higher.
It is available free of charge from the following page:

http://www.gemote.org

We currently support Windows (XP, Vista, 7), Linux, Mac OS X (Intel), WeTab, MeeGo

... and also the Nokia N900.

Best regards,
Your Gemote Team

Perhaps a small addition if I might because it's not quite as easy as this. In most cases any computer with a built in infrared device is going to be using IrDA, these devices are typically incompatible with consumer IR devices. Linux or not, you'll have a difficult time without a proper CIR (Consumer IR) peripheral.

@ Gemote

Thanks. I've tried to get qtirreco to work with my PS63C7790 for hours with no success.
Gemote solved the problem - it works very well.
Maybe a little bit laggy compared to the official Samsung-TV-Remote-App on my SGSII wich also uses WLAN, but I'm really happy I got my beloved N900 working with my TV finally
