Pls help me to restore my n900 stock kernel when i try this command

apt-get install --reinstall kernel

error message pop out it says:

"E: could not open lock file /var/lib/dpkg/lock...
E:unable to lock the administration..."

I want to restore my n900 kernel from flashing in to linux kernel 50 because it caused my phone some defects i do not usually encountered like unwanted reboots..

Pls can any one help me or some advise??

(1) You need to be root in order to use apt-get install and/or dpkg -i.

(2) When you installed KP50 you noticed a new icon in your application menu called "Nokia Kernel". Click on it.

yeah i tried that one too but it tells the same error in app manager "unable to install the nokia kernel"...

Be root, and do not have the app manager open while you're doing this (and give it a minute or two to properly shut down)
