Maybe have a way to toggle it on and off instead of landscape restriction?

anyhow, do you think is possible to rotate all the shortcuts/widgets/contacts but not the hildon screen itself? that would make it much more useful
that way the hildon screen wont go out of boundries and its lower half will be useable. maybe have a look here, tell me from your experience if its doable
Or, you could try yourself - and see how you go. I'd be happy to mentor you.

Maybe it is a idea to put it in the Setting menu, and that it is only possible to turn it, when your wallpaper (wherre the widget are) an the menu can only twist, because i don't want to automatic reboot my phone when it go's rong

Nice works!!
finally we got someone do the portrait stuff, we need just a portrait vkb now
also i realize this makes the whole screen rotated, apps icons are missing in the main menu, and under portrait mode, it's impossible to close a application, because the X button was overlapped with the window title and does not responding
btw if send a "ctrl+shift+r" (or "ctrl+R" )to the actived window this will sets the portrait properties as true?
