There is a Coding Challenge going on right now! 1 billion internets to the first person who ports redphone or textsecure (note that it is written in java thanks to its Android roots). 1 million internets if you get this working on NITdroid.

Secure VoIP/IM solution.
Currently available for Android but source will be available soon. They say they're going to port it to other platforms soon so we may only have to wait for a Maemo port.
