I was just wondering such feat. is possible on Harmattan? I saw the status update feature for all the IM services but I think it's more useful if we can post status update on a universal location on the UI rather than opening individual facebook, twitter, etc app in order to post a status or tweet.

I submitted an enhancement request for this long-time ago on bugzilla BUG 1025

Well, not sure they would do enhancement anymore

this is great!
can i get sources of it? i have a lot of ideas how to use status bar and i have a lot of free time to work for it

Source of what? The two buttons? :P
I'm not done with them, well, at least not twitter, had to understand the API then find a good lib (since it's way harder than facebook to login/update status with QNetworkAccessManager) then modify the lib and make a config GUI (so the status bar plugin doesn't use a lot of memory for a one time config)

I'll put the source up when I release it.

Hahaha, i will need to spend sometime to unlock my phone first, will go through the known issues first. But thanks man!
