Hi all,

I just updated my n800 to os2008 yesterday. For the most part, I'm pleased.

On os2007 I used to watch about a dozen AVIs with mplayer and they all played flawlessly. The videos are on SD cards (I may have swapped the "internal" and "external" cards during the upgrade process, not sure if that matters).

Yesterday, I installed mplayer (version 23) on os2008, but all the videos have lip sync issues...the video is a few seconds before the audio.

Is this a known issue? Anyone else experience this? I would love to get mplayer working the way it did on OS2007.

Chris

I have exactly the same issue with mplayer after upgrading to os2008 and reinstalling mplayer. Also, there is a parameter for audio delay in the pop up menu but I can't find a way to change it from 0ms.

I downloaded all the .deb files from here:

http://repository.maemo.org/extras-d...ree/m/mplayer/

and installed them from build 23 backwards, until I got one that installed and didn't have lip sync issues. I had to go back to build 20 or 19, I think...

Problem is, those earlier builds are unstable for other reasons...

Thanks, going back to rc19 fixed it. rc20 made everything go at 2X speed.

I like the interface for os2008 and the built in samba is nice to have it finally talk to my NAS box that has my digital pictures on it.

Mozilla rather than Opera is good too.

Other people are having the same problem, but they each started their own thread about it, just like you.

Until there is an official fix, try adding these lines to your ~/.mplayer/config file:

mc=1
autosync=30
delay=0.6
