My N9 with PR 1.3 does not update time when I travel from New York to Chicago (I assume this should be the case if I were to travel from miami to LA as well).

In PR 1.1(and also 1.2 I think) I have seen the time update automatically during my travels. Not sure this is a defect in PR 1.3

Note:
I have enabled the "Automatic time update" on Settings->Time and language->Time and date screen.

Please let me know if anyone has encountered this same issue and point me to the solution.

I am not sure why you see this issue, but I use N9 on Straight Talk (ATT Network) , and it usually updates the time when I travel. I never had trouble with that.

I am sorry I could not help you here. It would be great if someone can point to where to look for logs for time update behaviour.
