I have a Gizmo5 account that I use with Google Voice. I was hoping to use it with the SIP client on the N900. However, the client won't allow me to sign in, despite the various tweaks and changes I've tried. Anyone else using Gizmo with the SIP client that could give me some clues? I'm totally stumped on this one.

Here's what I'm using to attempt to sign in:

User name: 1747*******
Password: ********

Advanced settings-
Use for telephone numbers: SELECTED
User name: 1747*******
Transport: AUTO
Outbound proxy: proxy01.sipphone.com
Port: 5060
Discover public address: NOT SELECTED
Loose routing: NOT SELECTED
Keep-alive mechanism: AUTO
Keep-alive period: AUTO
Auto-detect STUN: NOT SELECTED
STUN server: stun01.sipphone.com:3478
STUN port: 3478

Does this setup look proper, or am I overlooking something? I've used Gizmo for nearly a year, and never had an issue using it before with various applications. Not sure why I keep getting "Not signed in"...

Clear the user name out and leave the field blank.

Transport: AUTO
"Auto" should work, but give "UDP" a try if you continue to have trouble.

Outbound proxy: proxy01.sipphone.com
Port: 5060
Discover public address: NOT SELECTED
Select it.

Loose routing: NOT SELECTED
Keep-alive mechanism: AUTO
Keep-alive period: AUTO
Auto-detect STUN: NOT SELECTED
STUN server: stun01.sipphone.com:3478
Remove the ":3478" bit.

STUN port: 3478

Perhaps Google Voice will probably going to be similar to Gizmo5 (as Gizmo5 Has Been Acquired by Google)

I suspect that Gizmo5 be under the banner of Google Voice. I think it will mostly be a standalone server. The tightest integration I can see (at most) is dialing out directly via the Gizmo SIP account and the call being placed and routed via Google Voice #. That ways would become totally seemless. But that might push Google into the voice providers category instead of just a voice service. It seems like Google was trying to avoid that from those FCC inquiry letters.

I ran though the options setting them the same way I had them on my venerable n810, and it "Just Worked" ^_~

Last time I setup my n810, I followed this post:

Hope that helps!

The settings you need are the same for either the n900 or n810 (working on both for me).
