i was browsing on opera when my n900's screen decided to just freak out. it went crazy on the display. a lot of black and green lines with some yellow thrown in. nothing was distinguishable. ive noticed this happen a few times before while browsing opera but it usually would come and go pretty quickly. this time it persisted between having a black screen with streaks of color to just a plain blank screen. i restarted several times and the screen would remain blank. if i kept hitting the lock and unlock switch i could sometimes make the weird colored line screen come back but obviously the phone is still unusable like this. so then it randomly decides to fix itself but now im worried about the reliability of the phone. i've had the phone since launch. anybody else experience something like this?!

My phone is in the picture.
As said in the other thread, no idea of the cause.
The problem stopped 3 days later.
No problem since august.

I keep my fingers crossed.

It seems everytime im browsing on opera it does this....maybe related?!

Weird. It's a repetetive pattern from left to right, never seen that before. And it looks like it's only happening on the status bar...?

The pattern is probably video corruption, from eithe enabling WSEGL_HWSync=1 or Smartreflex (or both).

Just kill hildon-desktop or reboot, and it should be gone.

I had a similar problem years ago. This was my lonely thread
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=40045

Restart usually fixed it but not always. Oddly I use to get it more often when I used a specific battery, which I found really odd.
