If MeeGo is dead then so is Nokia. Lumia isn't going to save Nokia.

Never seen any iron-clad evidence that such an obligation existed & was enforceable.
I reckon they kept going mainly because they'd invested far too much time/resources.
Yeah but why would they release and then burry iit. It would be better not to release at all and give Flop more money fior his win phails. This is the main reason I believe there probably waqs such a deal.

We'd need a more solid basis than that before we could accept contractual obligation as fact.

Why is there a discussion?

MeeGo is dead because Intel left it behind and moved on to Tizen.

Maemo is dead because Nokia has basically walked away from it and moved to WP7.

This community will not be funded by Nokia after December. MeeGo will probably be close behind that. The Nokia bug tracker is closed, the public one still does exist.

It's all downhill from here.

Same thing about OS/2 Warp. IBM stopped development on it 2001, yet a lot of companies use it right now for ATM's and kiosks.

It's dead because that denotes that it has no more forward development by the company that originally coded it. Community support only goes so far.

Ask the Zaurus community.

Naa, can't be dead before PR1.3. Nokia have at least one man working on the upgrade.

Rumors place Meltemi at the lower end of the spectrum. Sounds like power users need not apply.
