display it where? why? how? you're not explaining what is the problem with the existing battery icon, do you want the voltage, mah, time remaining, %remaining? in a widget? in a script? using c?

I think you were meant to say "headset" ? Then at least i don't know a way for that. Have you ever had a BT headset with a cellphone that could do that? On all my headsets was a LED of some sort that would do that.

i'm guessing @gixx wants to be able see the percentage level remaining. i would like that as well so when i'm out and about i can know what to turn off and not use for a while.

I think the OP wants to know the headset battery level on the N900..I don't think that its possible..seems kinda difficult for someone to make something like this...
