Use SSH and VNC

Should work, but will be slow.

On N900 check out this: SleepAnalyser to analyse your sleep movements / PasswordMaker a for a password generator

It will be slow since VNC is not the fastest protocol and also the network (wifi/gprs) might be an issue.

Please use the search function in this forum as well as in the wiki.

Somebody wrote a guide about it here: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=80118

Infos about SSH and VNC:

Use lighttpd and you'll be able to turn the N900 into a regular server, allowing you to control it from anywhere in the world with nearly every single computer in existence (well, the ones with an internet connection & browser), without having to install a SSH client or anything alike (which might not be possible on some systems).

Heck, you can even use Bash as a CGI to keep the learning curve incredibly gentle.

How would the webserver be able to control the phone?
You would need a web interface with php or cgi like webshell.
AFAIK this is not included in lighttpd.
