Hello,

Driftnet is a Linux program which listens to network traffic and picks out images from TCP streams it observes, it works well when running on a host which sees lots of web traffic (WiFi access points). The original Driftnet can be located here: http://www.ex-parrot.com/~chris/driftnet/

I am wondering if anyone has tried to get Driftnet working on the N900? I saw a post about Driftnet on an older Maemo device (http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...light=driftnet).

Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas about Driftnet on the N900?

Thanks!

I don't like the thought of running driftnet on an open wi-fi network, so I for one ain't going to build one for the N900.

That'd be nice but the only way you're going to see anything is by poisoning an AP or by having user go through joikuspot...

edit: 10:31, 10:39, 10:35 ... how can post be in random orders? :P

Well, why is that true? If you are on a wireless network shouldn't you be able to see all the traffic?

Yes, you should be able to see all the traffic if you set your wifi chipset to promiscuous mode.

So Driftnet should work then =)

Does anyone care to compile it for the N900?

The more important question is, does the N900 WiFi chipset support promiscuous mode?
