It's likely possible, considering that SMS messages are contained in a database. You would just need to have something monitor that database for a message that says
'play [filename] [password]'
Which would then activate the script.

What is a directory path to received sms
and what data format are received sms saved ?
On N810, N800, 770 job is easy as
received sms are read from AT phone connected to maemo via bluetooth, using AT commands.

Is it possible to perform an action on receipt of an SMS on an n900?
For example, if an SMS is received that says
'play [filename] [password]'
then a script is run that invokes media player to play the song in the SMS?
