It appears that earlier this year, Navicore released USA maps for its gps software. I see that the Nokia Europe website sells the nav kit, but why isnt it available on the USA website? Is there somewhere online that I can purchase this from the USA? Where are all of you guys buying this kit from?

Co-incidence. I too am currently looking into this matter. Its very unclear.

I called up the Nokia store in New York 2 hours ago and they told me that they have the GPS kit for N800. They said for 770, I can buy the GPS Module but the mapping software is only for 800 and for 770 mapping software I should go to www.maemo.org

I should mention that the nokia link (for some reason) does not open in Firefox. Copy paste the link in Internet Explorer.

On the Nokia website, there are no products available under the navigation link. Someone must have a clear answer.

the windshield mount is extremely adaptable. the software and maps are kind of 2005, but they usually get me where i want to go.

There was a recent release from Navicore about updated map coverage:

so there is supposed to be USA mapping software available from Navicore for the 770.

I live in Portland OR, and there doesn't seem to be any Nokia flagship stores in Oregon and I cant find any online retailers.

The prevoius poster's link was for the nokia 800 kit which I have easily found available online. I am pretty sure this will not work with the 770.

It is very likely that the Navicore kit for the N770 is discontinued.

The N800 Navicore maps and gps unit work perfectly well on the N770, just you need to download the N770 software from Navicore direct.

The only other downside is that the N800 holder may not be the right size for the N770. Certainly the N800 does not fit in the N770 holder. This is the situation I am in.

At the moment it seems to be difficult to buy the Mobile Holders separately from Nokia.
