From time to time (once or twice a week) Gtalk disconnects (network error) when I switch between wifi and 2G or 3G or from.

The only solution I know to reconnect Gtalk is rebooting the phone. I have been looking for some other solution, like disabling Gtalk account and re-enabling it, but it does not work.

Does anybody know if it would be possible to kill some process from terminal or any other workaround in order to restart a fresh Gtalk connection?

Thanks in advance.

IIRC you could kill mission-control-5 and D-Bus should respawn it. Didn't try though.

I tried it, but it did nothing visible. Gtalk still cannot reconnect.

Thanks.

What happens if you just disable and reenable the account?

Nothing at all. When I re-enable it, the "network error" message is there.

An alternative to the "network error" message is the green blinking dot. It remains blinking forever.

Can you find any information about
network error reason in /var/log/syslog?

Nicolai,

I do not know. I have attached my syslog. It begins exactly when I tried to connect my Gtalk account (10:33).

At 10:38 I connected Skype.

Thanks.

I'm just unable to refrain from posting a useless me too post because this is my major problem with the N9. Please keep shouting ideas even if they are longshots.

Quazix,

I am glad I am not the only one. I searched all around TMO and other sites and I did not find any single reference to this problem.
