Should not be a problem. In Germany for example, you just grab the one from Austria. But based on the announcement, the hardware/frequency specs and the leaked Harmattan package list, I would assume there is only one single variant of this phone.

Including all frequencies (Quad-band GSM/Penta-band 3G) and all languages (leaked package list had localization packages for about 30 languages...)

And also I expect major retailers like Amazon to have it in stock nonetheless.

Some people may be disappointed, but as long as the phone is fast, has the app ability of the n900 and has good battery life, I think we will soon forget about any missing features.

after owning a N900, do you think Nokia will support this phone in a major way after release ?

the only way I will buy it is if it had all the functionality I needed from a phone AT RELEASE

after N900, I learned my lesson - do not buy anything from Nokia hoping for future updates - only buy it if it has ALL the features you NEED at purchase time.

Decent announcement but the biggest news out of that keynote seems to be the focus on sustaining and expanding the QT ecosystem all the way down to S40.

Being already a big "ecosystem", I think with Qt support, S40 will grow to a really huge thing. I guess lower-end Symbian segment is to completely replaced with S40, whereas higher segment with Windows Phone. Let's see what they make out of "swipe.nokia.com"
