Here we go again... I am referring to these old N900 threads:
-http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=80077
with similar problems.

In Sailfish the behaviour is different, I'd like to remove some pckages and I can do it but when I try to update repos or intsall other packages the old unused and removed packages come back, beacuse some package depends on theme.

More generic exemple:
- I do not use package A
- A is a dependency of B (but B never use A it's only a fake dep.)
- I remove A
- B is still there (and it's ok!)
- I try to update my system / Install another package C (that has nothing to do with A or B)
- A comes back from the dead

Real exemple:
Code:
devel-su pkcon remove sailfish-tutorial jolla-startupwizard
And now update your os, install something...

Is there a way to block sailfish to install some packages?

In my experience, those two came back on a system update, not on the first install afterwards. IOW, the system update metapackage pulled them in. I removed them immediately after the OS update and they are still gone, after several app updates and new installs.

A dummy package with no content might be a solution. I am seriously considering making one, even though it might not make me a Jolla's favourite

And.... another question... with jolla how you create a dummy rpm? is there some unusual things to do or I can read a general how-to rpm package creation online?

Albeit I do not know if the system update MP wants any old tutorial or a specific version. I guess we will find out on the next update

afaik you can't do it. sailfish update manager using patterns and both packages will be installed with every system update.
