This is the version of osso-xterm that is shipped with diablo but I made some changes.

Reverse colours and Scrollbar toggle option now shown again.
Reset and Reset and Clear options now shown again.
Context menu re-added with open url functionality.
Font menu re-added.
Password menu.
Alt modifier added with limitations:
  • It won't do Ctrl+Alt+*. Only Alt+*
  • The toolbar option for the Alt doesn't work hence me commenting out the code to show an Alt button on the toolbar.
  • You have to go to Menu > Terminal > Send Alt-<Some key> to use it.
* dnstase's transparent keyboard mod with beeping enabled

* Entry on menu to disable the hildon keyboard for a N800. (If any N810 owners tell me how to do it on a N810, I'll happily update.)

(Although, I have to note that, you can use a custom shortcut with <ctrl>,<alt>,whatever in the stock xterm as well for alt...)

I'm very excited that you're looking at the code for Xterm!

It's probably my most used application (still can't believe not a single person posted on that Telnet thread in the games forum).

Anyway, is it at all possible to look into that "bright black" or whatever color bug that was accidently built into this version?

I promise to personally mail you a brand new BT keyboard that's never been used if you can problem solve for this.

EDIT:
Oh hey! You and jott already got that done? Fire up!

If either you or jott would like that keyboard (I've never used or ever will anyway) just shoot me another private message.

I'm visiting my brother in Florida right now but I'll be back home on Friday and can ship it out then.

Give jott my thanks! He's such a great guy! He even was the one who figured out how to have the Tablet display IBM graphics.

Awesome stuff qwerty! Thanks again!

No no, I had nothing to do with it, all jott's work . It was all jott's work. I don't think jott has an account on here, ask him on IRC sometime

I hope not to come across here like a boogerbutt on this, but that libvte .deb overwrote my old one which means that I'm back to having the invisible border around the screen.

Because I no longer can use the full 800x480 screen, I'm back to having some trouble with a few sites I visit.

Any chance you could post another .deb file to correct this part?
vte-0.12.2/src/vte-private.h
#define VTE_PAD_WIDTH 1

I believe it should read:
#define VTE_PAD_WIDTH 0
and
#define VTE_PAD_HEIGHT 0

No rush at all on this, but it would be nice to see this happen when you have the time.

Cheers buddy.

So, what's the actual idea behind this fontsize menu?
Aren't the +/- keys good for that?

Well, if you use the auto-rotate package, it remaps the +/- keys as pageup/down in portrait mode. In most apps, no big deal, because zoom is accessible via menu or toolbar, but osso-xterm was being a bit of a pain; this should ease that.

Oh, and thanks, Faheem! Great work.

I miss the xterm from the 770 days, with the vertical button bar.

If anyone can't get it to install, try to do so in RED PILL mode
