Hey guys,

Is it possible to get the SGX 530 to work at its full frequency of 200 mhz in the n900? The new OMAP 3630 has it fully uncapped and the performance difference is astonishing. Is it possible to unlock the SGX in the OMAP 3430?

The problem is not necessarily the clockspeed but the drivers and software do not implement vsync....and that is the reason horizontal scrolling always is tearing...which is very annoying. They have already stated that there are new drivers available but they will only be released for Harmattan....so now the question is if there will ever be a fully functional release of Harmattan for the N900. Guess it depends on if Nokia is willing to drop all their binary drivers to the public or not.....I'm not holding my breath.....

Yes, I am aware that the drivers are not quite optimized, but check out the difference the clock speed makes:

The Droid has a similar result to the nexus one and evo, but the Droid X is 90% faster.

Seems plausible and interesting, but what do I know... You might want to pm titan, joerg_rw, or some other hardware-savvy folks. If you learn anything useful, plz post it here.

Thanks for that link dsawhney!

Wow!
I knew the TI 3440 was about 14% slower than Nexus One's QSD for most things, like in normal usage.
But I had no idea, the Droid X had closed the gap and superseded it by THAT much!

I wonder how much does the Galaxy S best the Droid X?
I have a feeling it should be a lot more since it is using Hummingbird@1GHz (Cortex A8.5) and the newer PowerVr chip.

430Mhz is the TI DSP (audio/video) frequency. PowerVR SGX GPU (graphics) runs at 110 Mhz
