Is it me or have google changed their tile map server address? I can no longer get GMap tiles.

The server address is still valid. Perhaps it is an issue with the user agent? What user agent does CGPS present to the google server Dwarz?

I'm not sure when it happened cause I don't use it all the time but my cloudgps, 0.6.4 no longer working, the map tiles only work for whatever was previously downloaded it seems and nothing more. Always red text at top about not being able to connect to google.

Yeah, google is now blocking CGPS. I suspect it is an issue with the user agent CGPS presents GMAPS.
Ok. According to this the user agent is set by the line:
That would imply (in my limited understanding) that there is a config file somewhere that contains the field "httpUserAgent".
This also sets the user agent for curl, which is what I think Dwarz is using to grab the tiles from the GMAPS server.

It would seem Dwarz is such a creative genius he was playing the long game all along. He already forsaw this and wrote in a contingency with clever clues in his well commented, professionally laid out code for us to find in his absence!

Still working here. It downloads all kind of google tiles even w/o uncoment that line pointed out by vi_. I use an outdated version (0.5.7).

Basically, version 0.6.5 uses libqtm-11 which is not in the default library path, so you either change the command to run cloudgps or add the path to /etc/ld.so.conf so that you don't need to change anything.
