Me and a friend have been writing about N900 and Maemo 5 for some time and we've recently (a week ago) written a review on N900.

As a lot of people liked it (we've got a lot of links from other Brazilian blogs, twits, comments), I'm sharing it here. Hope you also enjoy!

Original, in Portuguese: http://freebird.blog.br/2009/10/23/preview-n900/

In English, translated by Google: http://translate.google.com/translat...review-n900%2F

The same link above can be used to translate to other languages as well.

It's not the best translation at all, but it's one of the best automatic ones.

I do not agree that the IPhone screen is better, and i'm not a Nokia fanboy. N900's screen has a lot more quality when talking about the display.

@GunnerzMate

I think that's a translation problem.

In Brazilian Portuguese, we use the same word to the touch and the display. N900's display is much better than iPhone's, IMHO. Not only its resolution is better but it's also more "beautiful".

But iPhone touch is much better. It's capacitive and way more sensitive.

Hope it clarifies our point on the post.

This kind of has me bugged. Can any of the current N900 users verify this from the review?

They say that MP3 playback were causing the CPU to kick up to 30%. Seems like a bug if accurate.

As we've written, the N900's owner told us it happens when playing music with sampling rate different from 48kHz. Maybe it's a resampling bug. It happened on the default media player.

Be interesting to see if this is app or OS related. Thanks!

My son's girlfriend is from Brazil. I would have gotten her to translate were it not for Google
