Nokia has never hyped N900, it has always being "step 4 of 5" meant for Linux geeks, not general consumers. N97 is the flagship product.

Well who cares? Their declared flagship product at present is the N97. At no point have I ever seen the N900 described as such.

This thread is in danger of being closed early.

The focus should be on the points raised and how to address them.

Bahh....I'm begining to get sick of people claiming that the N900 is a failure/shitty etc... u dont like it?? so sell it.
there are plenty of other devices out there, the N900 is directed to a speific market share which is not the same market the iphone is in.
Oh and: I LOVE MY N900!!!!

N900 and Nokia Internet Tablet series of products by Nokia
is intended for developers
under do-it-yourself (DIY) license
to get developers busy with app development.

Hardware comes from Nokia
Software comes from developers.

N900 = mobile phone - do it yourself
and get features as you like.

N900 is world's first open mobile phone for developers.

And if there's another one like this one...it will be the end of that niche.

this is just the beginning for n900, more to come,so far i am having fun the the device, making a good use of it.

failure is not the word that i choose to describe any flaws on this device.

no device is perfect.

If people dont like it then simply sell it. If Nokia and their products are no longer for them say your piece then move on.

Why not go buy something else as there's lots of options out there that are apparently better than the N900.

Just think, they wont have to log on meamo with something thats turning into nothing more than repeated winging, unless of course thats their thing.

I think the n900 is the closest thing I wanted in a portable computer/mobile phone and I am extremely happy with it.

However, Nokia totally messed-up the initial launch of the n900 and they still have difficulty communicating directly with users (developers too?) of the device.

BTW, I know the n97 is Nokia's flagship product and that's fine.
However, I think the £500 price tag does justify classing the n900 as a flagship product and should get the expected support too.

With the 1.2 update round the corner and the potential of MeeGo (development version) Nokia seem to support it well.

I think Nokia are losing the opportunity to actually compete with the likes of android & iPhone with the application availability.

It just seems that Nokia are too busy planning and making future plans while the smartphone market runs on by.
