Okay so this is how you do it.
1. enable fremantle sdk repositories
2. download libpq-dev and ruby1.8-dev
3. gem install pq or gem1.8 install pq
4. That's it!

Thanks for that but im getting this error

Code:
r # apt-get install libpq-dev ruby1.8-dev
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libpq-dev: Depends: libssl-dev but it is not installable
ruby1.8-dev: Depends: libc6-dev but it is not installable
E: Broken packages

enable fremantle SDK repository by adding the line below to this file /etc/apt/sources.list.d/hildon-application-manager.list
Code:
deb http://repository.maemo.org/ fremantle/sdk free non-free
then execute this
Code:
apt-get update
this would solve the errors I guess
