Just install again gstreamer0.10-plugins-base via "apt-get install --reinstall gstreamer0.10-plugins-base" (remove Extra-devel repository, of course).

I have several unplayable videos, that's the point :P

And yes, I had some unplayable before. Still don't understand why, they seem fine on the PC. I may have an XVID that started all this.

Also, edited my post with MPlayer output.

That is a known bug

FIXED!

It works after installing the new decoders support 0.3-1.
WooHoo!

I now have MPEG play capability AND the FLV files are shown in the player thumbnails.

I don't know who to ask for this, but could please one of the mods rename the thread to [workaroud available] Help: etc or something similar? There were a few complaints on missing MPEG and FLV functionaity on PR1.1, maybe this would help. TIA.

Please look into http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=39299&page=5
and don't forget to vote in http://maemo.org/packages/package_in...pport/0.3.4-1/ to promote Extra Decoder Support.

I noticed that in PR 1.1 when you attempt to play a non-playable video, the media player will fail to play any video from then on.
A workaround for people affected by this (until the bug gets fixed) would be reboot. Or kill the process mafw-gst-renderer, if you feel safe/experienced to do so.

No, it is gst-video-thumbnailerd which stacks and grabs video hardware. BTW, it also grows in memory --> device slowdown and consumes more battery. See and vote for bug 8165 -
