Hi Guys,

I have got a New N900 it just doesn't seems very smooth when I use the touchscreen to browse or navigate. The screen surface feels a little rough, is it coz it is a new piece and after sometime it will become smooth I dont know ? I am asking ? what Can I do to make the touch better and smooth.I have already Calibrated the screen. And I know it is Resistive, but it just doesn't move properly.

Thanks

Short answer: Buy an iPhone! N900 is not for you!

shorter answer: Powersearch!

edit: No but seriously, do you mean the plastic screen surface? I myself find the screen surface REALLY smooth. Shields are good and all, but IMO they make the screen surface rough and uneasy on your fingers/stylus.

If you mean UX "smoothness": see initial response.

I've never touched the screen itself... I recommend a Zagg invisible shield, or any screen protector.

Kind Regards,

I wonder which issue it is

- The surface of the screen is not smooth, the friction between finger and the surface is too high. There's stiction.

or:

- Scrolling framerate is low, screen content updates are not vrefresh synced.

I don't know about others, but my N900 had black, fully opaque plastic over the display, pretty difficult to use the N900 without removing it first I was thinking why don't they just use a bloomin' transparent sheet to save users from having to buy a screen protector separately.

And for the OP: make sure your fingers are not sweaty or moist

No I am saying apart from all these superficial gestures is ther anything that cane be done internally in the phone to make the Tuch of teh screen even more smooth and fluent.

if plain screen isn't smoot enough, your suggestion makes the problem million times bigger.
