As the topic imply. I think it would be awesome if someone knowledgeable made an app where it was possible to resize the application shortcuts on the desktop.

I have been trying to do this but apparently it is not possible by just editing a config file. Apparently it is closed inside hildon-home.

Therefor i ask if someone would like to make a Queen Beecon type of widget. But only for applications. It would be simpler and be more moderate at battery drain.

The needed functions would be:
1. A drop down with the installed programs.
2. Recognize what theme in use and use it's shortcut bakground.
3. Maybe manipulation through Imagemagick.
4. A slider to resize the icon.
5. Maybe two buttons for custom icons if wanted. One for normal state and the other for pressed down state.

Place for the discussion: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?p=702308

Attached a picture to illustrate what i mean.

As you can see in the attached image i my previous thread I was not able to resize the Chromium icon. So it looks kinda misplaced. The background is 62x62 and the icons are 48x48 pixels.

Actually, hildon-home is completely open: http://maemo.gitorious.org/fremantle...op/hildon-home

Updates made to it are released during the PR firmware releases. You can vote for the following brainstorm: Undelayed bugfix releases for nokia open source packages

Did not know that. However the awesome Matan did a fix in the other thread so this "request" is not as needed now.
