Hello friends!

Today, my worst nightmare became reality.
The USB socket (which I thought was soldered well enough to resist gentle use) tore off a board.

I used search and found some interesting guides from which I couldn't choose what's better to do first. I'm hardly that kind of guy who's able to solder it down again with tin and stuff like that, I'm a novice in this case, the best thing I've fixed that way was N900 headphones.

My question is: Is it actually possible and worth trying to fix this with my level of skill?

I'll post some pictures later when I get home.
Thank you in advance.

Not to be discouraging, but don't you think you might get better answers simply posting in one of the relevant threads that you have already seen?

At least there you will find people interested in the topic and some of them have already done what you are trying to achieve.

If you are questioning if you have the skills to fix the USB socket then you probably do not.

Either:

1. Pay a chop shop to try for you (dodgy).
2. Sell your broken n900 and purchase another one.
