Well, as I've posted elsewhere in this thread, I use a piece of overhead transparency film (HP Color Laserjet, circa 2000, cost unknown but probably about $1/sheet) trimmed to fit to slide under the glass. I get about 9 pieces per sheet. I've been using this since about day two and it's been about two months of heavy use on the first piece, which I've just retired.

Thus, compared to all the fancy-shmancy screen protectors this looks like it will probably cost about 400 Colons/ year (about 520 Costa Rica Colon's to the US dollar). That takes a lot of guts!

I was amazed that it lasted great for two monts.
