That happens when developer-mode is enabled.

There are still sources you can download your firmware from.

ah, thanks for your answer. are there any chances to set the behavior to default while developer mode is on?

Well, I don't know about that, I never had an N9.

Looks like you are stuck since further development of NavifirmEx has stopped and unless there is an alternative.

Well it won't be able to download packages from Nokia/Microsoft server since they closed it down. So it is useless now I guess.

Oops! I said "closed it down". *clears throat*.

Let me phrase what the google code page says: "Nokia was closed the server and not allowed public access.

NaviFirmEx won't work anymore!!!

I don't have the time to maintain this project anymore, sorry."

I think that means that they restricted certain servers from public acces. And the reason you are able to get the files on NV+ is because they may have mirrorred the server. Though I may not be correct. That is just my assumption. I still don't see why using NV is faster for you though.

The flasher tools mirror doesn't seem to be working...
Also, I tried to install the flasher using a file I found from another site and nothing happens when I open it apart from the command prompt opening and closing straight away. I'm using windows 8.1 if that makes any difference - I didn't have this problem with my old laptop running windows 7. Any ideas of what I can do? Thanks.
