1. I bought a 512MB SD card, and physically swapped it with the 64MB one.

2. I started following the instructions here:
http://maemo.org/maemowiki/ExtendedRootFilesystem

3. To partition the new card, that page points to instructions here:
http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...5&postcount=42

And this is where I don't know what to do :-(

> - to do the partition, you need to use cfdisk given with wolfram .deb :
> /var/lib/install/sbin/cfdisk /dev/mmcblk0 (don't forget the space before the /dev...)

OK

> - then, you must delete the existing partition !
> (simply press D)

OK

> - create after that the first partition that will be used for data storage (in the same > way as your original mmc worked) it must be a FAT16 partition. to do that press > N.

OK

> - don't forget to indicate the type of partition (press T); it's number 06.

OK, although the interface really sucks, and it's not at all obvious that one has to hit the space bar a ton of times before one can enter "06"

> - i mentionned it bootable (should i ?) by pressing B

OK, although there seems to be no visual feedback to indicate whether it's bootable.

- then i created the second partition, used for the swap.
(press N)

Not OK. "New" is not one of the options at this point. Pressing "N" doesn't do anything useful. Nothing I press seems to do anything useful. (I suppose I could just cross my fingers and press "W", but since I haven't told it anything about a second partition, that doesn't seem like it would be the right thing to do.)

So how do I create the second partition????

Doc Evans

PS Incidentally, the display is a mess while running ./cfdisk. it looks like the screen isn't being cleared properly between writes.

Ah!!! One needs to zoom the xterm out so that the font is pretty small. It's all much happier then.

My poor 50-year-old eyes weren't happy, but at least the N770 was.
