Well, we've talked about creating a logo for maemo, what else embodies the spirit of the community right now more than this type of image?

If not removed, can they be rewritten because they give people the false impression that this is a Nokia run site:

Are there answers yet? If not, what is the status? Is it on agenda for discussion at some meeting, etc.? Please respond.
This is the third time I am asking the Council. I also sent two PMs to Reggie and got no response.

PLEASE respond.

Some quick questions which'll make it easier to address (and apologies for the delay):
  1. Is there a bug report about it?
  2. Do you think they're needed, if so - what should they say?

TIA,

Andrew

Thank you for responding.

There is no bug report about it. I didn't think one was necessary, because it pertained to governance, Reggie agreed that the terms should be changed:
http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=722983&postcount=6

and qgil said they could be removed:
http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=166

As to the content of the revised terms, the most important thing is they not give the impression that this is a Nokia-run forum as discussed here:
http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=222

I would suggest that the terms of use can more or less match the rules for t.m.o. and the privacy policy clarify the availability of information in user accounts.

If the decision is made to change, I will help in the drafting if asked.

As you say, the decision itself is straightforward. It's what, if anything, they get replaced with. A proposal along the lines of "delete X, replace Y with .... and change all instances of V in Z with W" is easier to get approval for and rolled out.
