Brief wishlist:

* Saved searches: possibly even interleaved in a timeline
* AJAX for switching tabs to make it a bit quicker (no full refresh)
* Maemo 5 CSS styling (there've been requests for such a library without any use yet)
* Uses the new retweet functionality (does it already?)

- for the saved searches interleaved in a timeline... I don't quite understand what that would look like.
- I've been thinking about this, and am undecided. Moving to ajax for navigation makes everything more complicated and potentially breaks the back button. But the load speed improvements may be worth it.
- Again, something I thought about, but am unsure on. While I am a N900 user and am primarily targeting this at maemo users, I also want to keep this as platform neutral as possible... maybe a skinning option?
- Yes, it already does use the new "native" retweet functionality.

Looks nice. To me, without searches and the ability to save them, it's not usable.

Edit: how do I write a DM?
if you can tweet, then you can dm.
just start your tweet with
d username

where username is without the @ symbol, eg instead of a reply:
@danielwould witter rocks, you're some kind of coding god
you'd write
d danielwould that was all lies, you have no idea how to write python.

Check out Witter, a twitter client for N900
http://danielwould.wordpress.com/witter

If Witter isn't working for you, eg crashes/doesn't start, gives errors etc etc. Please run it from x-term using:
run-standalone.sh python2.5 /opt/witter/witter.py

This will generate diagnostic output. Without this I cannot help you.

Imagine it like "following" a search. So if I save a search for "#n900", any tweets containing that term would appear in my timeline, as if I was following the author.

[Maemo styling] - Again, something I thought about, but am unsure on. While I am a N900 user and am primarily targeting this at maemo users, I also want to keep this as platform neutral as possible... maybe a skinning option?
Something based on iUI could be a starting point.

Thanks for all the good ideas, to keep track of them a little better, I created a UserVoice page for tweetgo.net.

http://tweetgo.uservoice.com

If you have a minute, check it out, and vote for the features that matter to you! Also, suggest anything that I am missing.

There is a bug, that if you hit the update button without entering any text in the text area above you will get this message:

"Server Error in '/' Application.

Status text must contain at least one character"

For now, just make sure to enter a status update before clicking the button. We are working on a new version that fixes this bug and adds many features, but it is still a couple weeks away from being done!

Days become weeks and weeks become months...

All that to say, sorry it took so long to get a new version of tweetgo.net up!

However, this week I did launch a new version of tweetgo.net - so far the feedback has been super positive.

Several of the biggest requests have been implemented:
  • Searches and Saved Searches
  • A visual style that fits better with the Maemo5 UI
  • Proper inbox/sent items/sending DMs

The best place to submit requests for features is tweetgo.uservoice.com - they have a great interface for submitting an voting on features!
