You have to be root to do any apt-get commands. Have you Rootsh installed? If so type "Sudo Gainroot" in x-terminal and then your apt-get install commands.

As Sash said you have to be rooted to be able to do that command. And that will probably fix the game too.

1. If you haven't done it already install a package called rootsh from the application manager.
2. Once installed write the following commands:
Code:
root
apt-get install libsdl-mixer1.2=1:1.2.6-5+0m5+ogg+mp3
3. Try starting the game.

You can also try various other suggestions from the beat2x thread, but I think this was the most popular one. So maybe it will work like this.

thanks for your helps. pantera1989 and Sash
Now, i can play Beat2x ^^ but the sound is mute, can i do something wrong?
one more thing, that is i'm not sure that i have install "rootsh" yet, because i just typed in X-terminal what Sash said
"Sudo Gainroot"
then typed
"apt-get install libsdl-mixer1.2=1:1.2.6-5+0m5+ogg+..."
so i'm not sure that i have installed the root yet, can you show me someway to check.

If "sudo gainroot" worked, you have rootsh installed.

About the sound I'm not sure, but maybe this will help:

Additional song packs can be download from THIS site.
Copy uncompressed Folders to /opt/beat2x/Packs

To copy to opt install a filemanager called 'Filebox' or if you are familiar with xterm the command is:

cp <target folder> <destination"

eg:

Code:
cp /home/user/MyDocs/TheUncompressedFolder /opt/beat2x/Packs/

for beat2x you can take a look at the post here at the forums or try this:
1) sudo gainroot
2) apt-get install libsdl-mixer1.2
it should work now
