Announcing 'Ring Clock', a colorful clock applet for the desktop with date display. Please install from the download section here. Different color for the hour, minute and seconds rings can be selected through the color panel, to match the desktop theme/background color scheme.

The applet also acts as a power launch for the Osso clock alarm UI. Double clicking on the applet launches the alarm utility, which otherwise is accessible only through a round about route from the Control panel..

And the usual screen shots:

Pretty, pretty, I like it a lot looking at those screenshots. I guess there's no N900/Maemo5 version (yet)?

Great

Will be waiting for the Maemo 5 version

Will you also make the option to show it as a "Default" clock?
(Like the one in Windows Vista/7 and Android?)

nice :-)

could you write a bit more about the colours, for us n900 users? is it user selectable or does the colour depend on the date/time (in other words slowly changing) or is it selected randomly (if so, does it change every day, second, month, year ?!).

What do you mean by "default" clock here? since I dont own a n900 ( not yet!), I am unable to understand this.. But going by how maemo works, all these applets made for the desktop can be enabled or disabled. So as and when I come up with a version for the Maemo5, you would possibly be able to enable/disable it to be displayed on the desktop.
