I know this is an old thread but I am facing the same problem. The issue started when I removed the battery and put it back in. It booted but with black screen (nothing on the lcd) I just heard the nokia sound. I opened it up checked the cable tested it in another N900 worked fine but this one remains dead. When connected to charges or usb steady orange led lights up doesnt go off. Am using win7 with drivers working. I managed to flash the other phone easily but this one can not even go into flashing mode. I have ubuntu desktop but in a portable flash. What can be the fix for this? Please help. Am in Malawi and No nokia support here plus the phone is old had it since 2011.
