I am currenty abroad using automatically N900 chosen operator.
However GPRS roaming is 7e/MB with "any operator". With one friendly operator the cost would be 3e/MB.
How in N900 one can manually choose the cellular carrier in use if it automatically wont choose the wanted one?

I'd like to know this too. Also it doesn't seem to tell me which operator I am connecting to when it asks to enable data roaming.

settings->phone->network selection and then choose "manual" would seem to be what you want? haven't actually done this whilst roaming but I presume that's its purpose.

You have to conciser you can't just roam on any old network. Your home network has to have a partnership with them.

When in Gambia I had a choice of three options, Gamcel, Africell or no service at all, but if I tried to manually choose even the ones O2 had partnership with it still wouldn't let me on.
