Hi All,

For those of you who are interested in the newest version (1.2.7) of Ankiqt, there is a package called ankiqt900 in the extras-devel repository.

For more information check out the following thread: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...245#post961245

If you find any errors, please post them in the above thread.

The size of some text and some buttons has been changed such that it better fits the N900 screen. More important is, that screen rotation has been added, which makes ankiqt much more usable on the N900.

Cheers,

keynya

hi! I got anki from the repository and it works great!
I am wondering where it stores the decks; I'd like to put media files in there.

Hi,

Ankiqt900 stores the decks in /home/user/.anki/decks

This folder can not be accessed normally. You could use ssh (only for advanced users).

The easier way is to copy the files somewhere onto the device, install "Filebox", which is a pretty good Filemanager, and then move the media files to the .anki/decks folder.

I hope this helped

I am thinking about getting an N900 and using Anki on it to learn Chinese. Because Anki is such a great program.
  • Does N900 require additional installation of Chinese fonts in order to display Anki decks containing Chinese characters?
  • Where can Chinese fonts for n900 be downloaded from?

Thank you.

I'm currently developing Anki client for Harmattan, using Anki library, PySide and QML. It's in private GitHub repo yet, but if someone wish to join, feel free to contact me: https://github.com/divan
I haven't tried it on Maemo 5 yet, it surely will need some code changes, but should run smoothly. I'll update as soon as it will be in beta, and will open github repo for contributions.

Thanks a lot divan for your effort!!!

I created a deb package for the N9 based on the git https://github.com/divan

https://www.dropbox.com/s/nzftpq6a28....1.0-1_all.deb

It can be installed by
devel-su
dpkg -i ankiqml_0.1.0-1_all.deb
apt-get install -f
You have to put all your decks manually to MyDocs/Anki

Your learning process will be synced.

Images are suported but sounds do not work. At least mp3 files do not work with my deb-file.

I am not clear about how to delete Decks on the device itself.
