I've ported the Enlightenment Foundation Libraries to the N9 and they seem to work well, but the OSK is not displayed when I select a text input field.

Is there a way I can setup my N9 to display the keyboard via a gesture or a command?

Regards,
~Jeff

E17 ( E18) have intergrated virtual keyboard.
Whem you wan't to use native keyboard then maybe some parts of Easy Debian helps you: http://wiki.maemo.org/Easy_Debian and http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=85878
It seems to be a xmimd utility.

I've not compiled the E17 desktop - just the libraries that power it. I want to run some of my python applications that are written in EFL/Elementary on my N9.

I'll look into xmimd, but I am still interested in a cleaner manner for calling up the onscreen keyboard.

EDIT: Maybe I am using Xmimd wrong, perhaps it doesn't work with EFL (a lot of it looks GTK specific), or maybe it just doesn't work with applications running natively on Meego (not in a chroot).

At any rate I can't seem to make it display the OSK.
