For me this is the most disturbing issue on n9kia.. Is this the first of the latest smart phones that doesn't support video calls? Now there's an achievement, hooray!

Even if Peregrine makes a working Skype Video call, M$oft might not allow that.

They already got rid of all the apps for the iphone.

Skype has announced that it has told third-party software maker Nimbuzz that as of October 31, it has to remove access to Skype from its software offering.

Nimbuzz also writes in the official blog post about the decision to remove support that, “Skype’s decision to ask us to stop supporting their service seems to be part of a strategy to disconnect all open third party support.”

Now I would be more than glad to stop using Skype, clearly power got the better of them. About half a year ago I tested out every single video calling app for the iphone, there are quite many. However none of them could compete with Skype. The closest was yahoo messenger, but no real competition there. Perhaps gtalk has potential if the app is good.

So having a "working" third party app is not necessarily an instant win-win situation.

They were planning on doing Skype "&" XMMP/Jingle (Gtalk).

Wow, that's really a bummer.

I still think integrated voice/video services were done best in the n900, to date. And now N9 should have upgraded that.

Shame on me for buying this phone thinking it would be added.

Do I have to contact these guys soon even though I still don't have my N9?
Where's the N9 owners keen to put their hands up to beta test for Peregrine?
