hmm ok, I had charged the phone on the same day, it finished at about 3pm, I updated the firmware at around 7pm and then used wifi to get all these apps, maybe around 20 mins. Put it on offline at 2am and at 11 am in the morning battery was dead, before going to bed it showed 71%. Nothing else was done, so I am assuming the percentage was accurate. Any views?

Ok I just went through battery graph and noted that just around the time I was going to bed the CPU usage went whacko and it was using 100% CPU till the battery died at about 8am. As we speak the CPU is being used, 50%. The battery will just die a few hours after the phone finishes charging again.

I will get a dump of the top command and post it here.

Here is a dump of top,

The process "/usr/bin/Xorg -logfile /tmp/Xorg.0.log" keeps spiking.

Can having too many shortcuts on the desktop cause this? I have only one desktop running with 8 shortcuts (contacts, web, email etc).

I am seeing another issue, the phone has been charging for the last two hours, an hour back the battery percentage was 77% and 1009 mAh. After another hour the stats shown are similar and it is still charging.

When charging the percentage is not updated, i don't know why either.

Don't trust it sometimes it goes from example 70% and later it shows 80%.

I advice to install "load applet or cpumem-applet" so you can get an eye on it most of the time.

"load applet" (Show CPU and memory usage, take screenshots, record screencasts)

"cpumem-applet" (Show CPU and memory usage in small status-area icon only)

There maybe 2 problems which i don't know which one.

1: After using wifi a battery drain accurs. (wifi switcher must eliminate that cause)
2: Some process taking a huge load on cpu, examine which one does!

@CarstenDutch:

1. I used the wifi switcher app to turn off wlan before going to bed.
2. According to battery graph some process was using up 100% cpu and the battery died in a few hours, dont know which one as I was sleeping at that time.

@God: ty, here are some of my screens which show the cpu usage and the drain,

You did a fresh PR1.2 flash, so i think this is unlikely to happen again in a short time.

I guess you used wifi-swither from the beginning PR1.0 or later to adress the wifi drain-bug? it is not needed anymore sinds PR1.1.1, i've had the same problem before which annoyed me enourmass!

i think this is just a process that got stuck some where, if the problem still persist we will hear from you again.
