My system is the latest PR1.2.

And usually, I use a 802.11n support router to get access to the internet
(actually, N900 is useing 802.11b because it does not support 802.11n)

After about 3 hour web browsing, by Wifi
the battery drained.

Ususally, after about 6 to 7 hours use, I had to change battery.

I thought this is normal at first.

Because it is said that N900 is a 'power eater'

But lately, I find that the power use of my Wifi is set to 100mW

and another choice is 10mW !

After switch to 10mW, my N900 can use for 2 days ! (48 hours)

Hope that can help you.

And also, hope that Nokia/Maemo can set the power of the Wifi to 10mW as default value.

In the very same page, you can also change power saving.
Moving it from OFF to any of the other will also boost your battery significantly, but may ruin your network a bit. (higher ping, some drops) if the router doesn't support it properly.

BTW, it's odd that it's recognizing it as b, when it should fallback go to g.

No, That's not what I wrote.
Moving it FROM off to any of the other...

nokia have said the 10mw option is only there to comply with law in some countries where 100mw is too high, and that due to the way the data is sent in bursts there shouldn't be any real change in battery consumption. then again nokia has said a lot of s**t recently so if anyone else sees significant improvement let us know.

Guy's, this has been discussed already but a while ago....read through the posts in the link below for more info on this...

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...ighlight=100mw

if i remember correctly it was also discussed extensively elsewhere...but i can't remember in what topic..and i need to get up for work, so can't search again ;-)

Dan

p.s bear in mind that the linked topic was pre pr 1.2 so some of the bugs referred to no longer exist...as nokia has now cleared up all bugs and problems and has a fantastic ovi store...sigh!
